ASK ONCE STUDY · SCHOOL & FOCUS

Help them own their schoolwork. Without another nightly argument.

School responsibilities can work like chores: a clear goal, a deadline, friendly reminders, a short focus session and a simple check-in. Built for teens who want more independence.

SMALL STEPS · REAL PROGRESS

Homework time, made a little easier.

Parents set expectations. Teens decide how to get started. ASK ONCE provides reminders and an optional 10, 20 or 30-minute focus timer, then lets them submit the assignment for review.

01 · ASSIGN

Clear school goals

Choose homework, reading, test preparation or a missing assignment. Set a due time, and the existing chore reminder system handles the follow-up.

02 · FOCUS

Start small

The teen can start an optional focus block on their phone. It remembers elapsed time when reopened. It does not restrict other apps or automatically verify work.

03 · CHECK IN

Progress, not pressure

They tap Done when their work is complete. The parent reviews the submission. Optional photo or screenshot proof is planned, with privacy controls.

THE QUESTIONS TEENS REALLY ASK

“Why learn a subject I'll never use?”

Because school isn't only about memorizing facts. It can also help you practice solving unfamiliar problems, learning difficult things, communicating clearly and keeping future options open.

ASK ONCE Study should offer explanations like that — respectful, short and relevant to the teen's own goals, whether that's college, a trade, sports or something else.

Parents can already assign homework as a task. An optional focus timer is available in the teen experience; automatic app blocking and school-platform integrations are not active.

Future encouragement would be opt-in, age-appropriate, adjustable and quiet during school or sleep. No shaming or grade comparisons.

Designed to help, not overwhelm

Phone distractions

Short focus sessions and a visible deadline are available for testing. Automatically limiting entertainment apps during homework is a future native parental-control feature, not available in the web beta.

Academic aspirations

Parents and teens could choose goals such as finishing assignments consistently, preparing for college or building better study habits — without shaming or comparing grades.

Privacy and proof

Homework screenshots and school-account integrations are not active. If introduced, proof should be optional, limited to what is necessary and visible only to authorized family members.

Positive messages

Scheduled school motivation and homework check-ins are available in saved support plans. Parents choose days, a support level and a fixed time or evening window. It starts off, uses reviewed messages and includes a teen pause control.
